Finished | Goosed Up Pincushion

Back in January I finally joined my local chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild! I'm really excited about the programming that's been developed for 2016...each month we're focusing on a different colour, doing some piecing featuring said colour, and by the end of the year each quilter will have the makings of a colourful rainbow quilt!

Before jumping into the different colour studies, January's meeting had us creating colour-wheel pincushions, using the Goosed Up pattern by Jeli Quilts. This will be a handy reference for our future meetings, and lets face it, it's just plain cute!

My only previous paper piecing experience (My XOX Quilt) was more than a little frustrating, but this time around was a completely different story. Maybe it's the small scale that made it manageable, or perhaps it was the informative lesson, but my faith in foundation paper piecing has been restored (Not that the seam ripper didn't have a roll to play in this project!

It's hard not to have fun when you're creating something this adorable. Watching those tiny geese develop was such fun!

This is my second finish from my Q1 List, for the 2016 Finish Along.
Linking up with Finish it Up Friday, over at Crazy Mom Quilts.

Happy Week-end!
